The cutest couple in hockey is back at it again.
After Russia beat the United States in the World Championship quarterfinals on Thursday, Alex Ovechkin located his wife Nastya Ovechkina in the stands of the lower bowl. He waved dramatically.
This continues an adorable tradition we first noticed during the Capitals’ 2018-19 regular season.
The two lovebirds are obsessed with each other and Nastya documented several examples of Ovi acknowledging her in the stands on Thursday in her Instagram Story.
We first documented Ovi waving to Nastya after the Capitals beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 at Wells Fargo Center on March 14.
Here is a slowed down version.
And of course, because we’re us, let’s compare the two waves side by side because this needs analysis. At the World Championship, Ovechkin used his right hand to wave. He seems to have more freedom with his movements with his right and had a bit more flair.
Doing the wave twice makes it a tradition, so let’s keep it going, boys and girls and babes.
