Last year, Joe Pavelski’s grandmother Mary Ann congratulated the Capitals’ great eight on his Stanley Cup win and predicted her grandson would be the one to bring it home the next time around.
Hours before the San Jose Sharks and Colorado Avalanche face off for their crucial Game Seven, Grandma Pavs posted a pic of herself in the teal number 8 jersey with the message “Beat the Avs for Pavs!”
Pavelski’s status is still unclear ahead of the game, after a scary head injury during Game Seven of the Sharks’ first round series against the Golden Knights.

Grandma Pavs got a photo with Ovechkin during the World Cup of Hockey in 2016 when her grandkid was captaining Team USA.
Congratulations Alexander @ovi8 My grandson is going to get it next year. pic.twitter.com/LD0c6rvv7W

In addition to congratulating Ovechkin last summer, Grandma Pavs also did her best to beat Kyle Dubas’s pitch to win over then-free agent John Tavares with this compelling argument:
I think that @91Tavares should join the Sharks!

She’s an awesome grandma and her Twitter feed is everything you could want it to be.

And remember, no matter what happens in the Shark Tank tonight: there’s more to life than hockey.
…probably.
It’s not always about hockey. Great Job Reid! pic.twitter.com/jONVVvxQyC
