The AHL still has one more day of the regular season left, but some teams have already locked in their foes for the first round of the 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs. The Hershey Bears are one of those teams.
The Bears will play the second-place Bridgeport Sound Tigers after finishing third in the Atlantic Division. The Bears had a disastrous start to the regular season, but rebounded to finish at least one of the best six teams in the Eastern Conference.
Saturday, the AHL released the schedule for the Bears and Sound Tigers best-of-five series.
The series begins next Friday in Connecticut. The Bears will host games on Tuesday, April 23 and Thursday, April 25 (if necessary).
Vitek Vanecek will be the Bears’ starting goaltender in net with Ilya Samsonov in Washington as the team’s third goalie.
