Monday is a federal holiday in the United States honoring civil rights pioneer Martin Luther King Jr. MedStar Capitals Iceplex was filled to the brink for practice because of this. It was the Caps’ final stop in Arlington, Virginia before the All-Star Break and bye week.
After practice, a throng of Capitals fans screamed at the gate for forward Jakub Vrana to come sign autographs.
According to RMNB’s Elizabeth Kong, Vrana was about to walk into the locker room, but he stopped and stood in the doorway, considering if he should come over or not. As people kept yelling, Vrana began smiling and decided to stop by.
As he did, he made sure to tell fans why it was such a big decision.

“I have yoga, man!” Vrana said. “I have yoga.”
“You can’t do two minutes,” Capitals forward Travis Boyd quipped, referring to the size of the crowd. “Good luck doing two minutes only.”
Vrana stayed and signed autographs for four minutes before getting his yoga on, while Boyd stayed for over 10, making sure everyone got a photo or something signed before leaving.
