On Friday, before hosting the New York Islanders at Capital One Arena, the Washington Capitals will hold a pregame ceremony to commemorate defenseman Brooks Orpik’s 1000th career NHL game.

At the ceremony, Orpik will receive a special gift from the Capitals organization, the NHL, and his teammates. Capitals President Dick Patrick will be on the ice to honor Orpik, along with Orpik’s wife, Erin.
