Halfway through the second period of Monday’s matchup in Capital One Arena, Braden Holtby decided to show off his offensive prowess. He assisted on the Capitals third goal of the game.
Is there anything Holtby can’t do?
Holtby took advantage of the Predators’ full line change and passed to Devante Smith-Pelly who was motoring up the ice.
LOOK. AT. THAT. SAUCE.
After receiving the perfectly timed passed, Smith-Pelly tapped it over to Stephenson, who put it past goaltender Pekka Rinne.
The home crowd celebrated appropriately.
The announcement that Holtby got a secondary helper was probably the biggest cheer of the night. Funny.

This is Holtby’s second assist of the season. He got a point in an opening night shutout against the Boston Bruins.
Braden Holtby was given an assist on Stephenson's goal, his second assist of the season. He's tied for first in the NHL in assists among goaltenders.
