Evgeny Kuznetsov wanted to win so bad he tried encouraging the puck down the ice in overtime

Evgeny Kuznetsov is a character and that showed up again in overtime against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Let me set the scene. Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen took a tripping penalty, giving the Hurricanes a four-on-three power play to finish the extra session.

The game was tied 5-5. Nerves were high. The Capitals had just cleared the puck into the neutral zone.

And that’s when Kuzy, from the bench, sprung into action to help.

Kuznetsov began waving his left arm to try and encourage, or maybe even create a gust of wind, to push the slowing puck further down the ice.

This is basically Hockey Curling without the brooms.

Kuzy, never change.
