After missing 20 games due to a knee injury, defenseman Brooks Orpik is finally back on the ice.
Orpik skated before the team took to the ice for practice Wednesday morning. It’s his first time skating since undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery three weeks ago.

In Orpik’s absence, the Capitals have deployed a rotating cast of Christian Djoos, Madison Bowey, and Jonas Siegenthaler on the third pairing.
#Caps fans, please be advised that Brooks Orpik is skating by himself this morning at Medstar Capitals Iceplex. He's on LTIR and has missed 20 games now. Good step for him.

That may be in jeopardy as Djoos is now day-to-day with a lower-body injury of his own.
#Caps Christian Djoos will not practice today and is listed as day-to-day with a lower body injury.
