More fourth line magic: Dmitrij Jaskin -> Nic Dowd -> Travis Boyd 🚨

Washington’s fourth line can’t stop scoring.

Dmitrij Jaskin, Nic Dowd, and Travis Boyd combined to score in the first period of Tuesday’s game against the Red Wings, but this was no grinder goal. It’s fourth-line fancy.

Dmitrij Jaskin got just the secondary assist, but he started the play with a deft touch south of the goal line. From him the puck found Dowd, who one-timed it to Boyd, who sunk it.

Tic-tac-toe. Goalie Jonathan Bernier didn’t stand a chance.

“Right now we’re playing well together,” Boyd said at intermission. “All three of us I think are feeling good about our games. We’re just putting it all together, making some plays and just having some fun. It’s funny how you starting making some plays, you see a couple go in, and the confidence keeps snowballing.”

Dowd has four points in the last five games. Boyd has a two-game goal-streak in four points in three games. Jaskin, with seven assists, is well on his way to a career high.

And, most importantly, the Caps own the lead.
