DC United attacker Wayne Rooney was spotted by NBC Sports Washington cameras at the Washington Capitals game, Friday night.
The footballer, wearing a black hat, a black zip-up hoodie, and a black shirt, attended the game with two of his sons and had front row tickets along the glass.
According to the NHL, it’s the first NHL game he’s ever gone to.
Rooney was announced to the crowd by Caps PA announcer Wes Johnson and gave multiple thumbs up to the camera. He received a loud ovation.

Rooney may be returning the love he received from the Capitals in late September. Capitals players Tom Wilson, Travis Boyd, Andre Burakovsky, Chrisian Djoos, Jakub Vrana, and Jonas Siegenthaler all attended a DC United game, a 5-0 win over the Montreal Impact.
