Tom Wilson may not be able to play in any games for the Capitals for a while, but he’s still making his presence felt in the locker room.
During an interview between NBC Sports Washington’s Rob Carlin and forward Jakub Vrana, Wilson snuck up behind them and plopped his hockey pants down on his young teammate’s head.
Confidence is important.. And @JVranaa has a ton of it.. Although @tom_wilso is always there to keep him in check.. Funny stuff.. #ALLCAPS pic.twitter.com/394mmSeczm

Vrana has been performing well in Wilson’s usual spot on the top line with Evgeny Kuznetsov and Alex Ovechkin. There doesn’t seem to be too much animosity between the two, as the two were all smiles during the exchange.
“Thanks, Tom,” Carlin said as Vrana pulled the pants off his head. “Way to stay in there though, a true professional.”

Carlin then asked Vrana if Wilson was “maybe nervous that you’re taking his spot on the top line? He’s trying to muzzle you right there.”
Vrana looked in Wilson’s direction while he answered. “I hope I play good enough so he is.”
Tom Wilson could be seen, pantsless, walking away behind the camera.
