Braden Holtby wipes out during stoppage in play

Braden Holtby may have given up a goal in the final minute, but he was sensational in the Caps’ 6-4 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

The only time the Holtbeast wasn’t sharp, at least in my opinion, was this late third-period stoppage in play. As Holtby skated out to the top of the crease for a crucial defensive-zone faceoff, he slipped and fell in spectacular fashion.

Toss some salt out there, you guys. Ice is slippery.

Holtby skates out… and OoooOOOOhhhhHHHhhh NOOOoooooOOOooooo.

Let’s zoom because we really need to zoom in.

According to NBC Sports Washington’s Alan May, Holtby needed help getting up from his teammates. He laughed as he made his way back to the net to recenter himself.

“I’m not sure you guys saw that, but Braden Holtby just bit the dust standing in his net,” May said. “He fell forward. The players had to go help him up.”

Oh Braden. Never change.
