Former Capital Jakub Jerabek has cleared waivers and been assigned to the AHL

Former Washington Capitals defenseman Jakub Jerabek was put on waivers on October 30. Today he cleared waivers and has been assigned to the St. Louis Blues AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.

The 27-year-old Czech native played in only one game for the Blues, registering no points, and receiving two penalty minutes.

Jerabek was acquired by the Capitals in February 2018 from the Montreal Canadiens for a fifth-round pick. He played nine regular season games with the Capitals, and two playoff games in the first round against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

In August, he signed a one-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers. He didn’t stay with the Oilers for long, as the St. Louis Blues traded a 2020 sixth round pick for Jerabek in October.
