Evgeny Kuznetsov does not care about your lists or player ratings.

Wednesday night, after the Capitals 5-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights, TJ Oshie told the media that Kuznetsov is a top-five player in the league.

Kuznetsov was asked his thoughts about this tremendous compliment and he had this to say.

That’s bold. Kuznetsov is already breaking the no swearing rule from Caps PR three games into the regular season.

Kuznetsov added, per the AP’s Stephen Whyno, that “It's just about have fun every night you go out there. If you don't have fun and you don't want to enjoy, you don't want to play hockey, you should be retired.”

On the evening, Kuznetsov tallied a hat trick of primary assists on his way to his first four-point night since February 24 against Buffalo.

Oshie wasn’t the only player to give Kuznetsov some serious props postgame.

Meanwhile, head coach Todd Reirden was more impressed by a different facet of Kuznetsov’s game that needs improving.
