The Capitals are up north to take on the Montreal Canadiens in their third preseason game. This game is special, as it’s being played at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City. The arena is built next to the Colisée Pepsi, where the Quebec Nordiques used to play.
This is the first preseason game for Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Tom Wilson, Michal Kempny, and Brooks Orpik. Thursdays tilt also becomes the third game for Jayson Megna, who is battling for the open spot on the fourth line. Megna is the only player to suit up in all three preseason games.

The Stanley Cup winning first-line of Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, and Wilson are finally reunited. On defense, Orpik and Djoos are paired together. Djoos was eventually partnered with Orpik at the end of last season when Kempny made his place aside John Carlson. They two played a sheltered-105 minutes together, but it wasn’t always the best pairing on the ice.
Pheonix Copley and Vitek Vanecek, who split the Caps’ first preseason game in Boston, will share the net again tonight.
The Montreal Canadiens lineup is below.
