Local tennis star Denis Kudla meets Alex Ovechkin at training camp, gets signed stick from Tom Wilson

Monday morning, the Washington Capitals were graced by the 66th ranked tennis player in the world, Denis Kudla.

The local tennis star posted several photos on his Instagram account, including photos with Alex Ovechkin and Braden Holtby.

He also showed off a signed stick from Tom Wilson.

Kudla’s signed stick from Wilson includes an inscription that reads “Great to meet you. All the best on the tour!” Wilson follows Kudla on Instagram.

The tennis player was born in Ukraine, but moved to Northern Virginia when he was young. He now resides in Arlington. Kudla recently wore Capitals Stanley Cup championship gear at Wimbledon along with fellow local tennis player Frances Tiafoe.
