The Washington Capitals announced that Kettler Capitals Iceplex would become MedStar Capitals Iceplex in July. The facelift goes beyond just the name, as the team has repainted and redecorated in the wake of the Capitals’ Stanley Cup championship.
Alex Ovechkin’s friend Gus shared footage of the Players’ Lounge in the MedStar complex. One entire wall has been painted with the team photo they took on the ice after winning the Cup.

The endcap of a bar height table has been embossed with a wooden Stanley Cup decoration.

The new MedStar branding has certainly been a big part of the overhaul.

Building staff started working on the walls of the practice rink early this summer. They’re not quite done.
Out with the old .@MedStarIceplex – they are changing up the walls a little. We hear they are adding more blue to the #caps this year.. #StayTuned #followusformore pic.twitter.com/XvbbmfBcAE

The reminder above a staircase that the Capitals are Stanley Cup champions really brings things to the next level.

These decals on the glass doors are a nice welcome to visitors.
And, of course, championship banners are the first and last thing that visitors to Ballston Quarter will see.
The redesign definitely make this a home fit for the Stanley Cup champions.
