Jakub Vrana, Christian Djoos, and Axel Jonsson-Fjällby arrive in DC for informal skates

Four more Capitals players returned to MedStar Capitals Iceplex on Wednesday with rookie camp and training camp nearing.

Jakub Vrana, Christian DjoosAxel Jonsson-Fjällby, and Vitek Vanecek joined 22 other teammates on the ice for the team’s informal skates led by strength and conditioning coach Mark Nemish.

Jonsson-Fjällby, a talented forward prospect, signed an entry-level contract with the team over the summer and spoke to Swedish media last week about his desire to make Washington’s opening night roster.

“I’ve got my mind set on staying [in North America]. The nervousness you feel is probably just before you get there and will ease off once I get [to the camp],” Jonsson-Fjällby said. “It’s not gonna be easy, I know that. At the same time, it’s not impossible [to make the roster]. I think they can use my style over there, but we’ll see if they think I’m ready or not, that’s up to the club. And it’s up to me to show them.”

The four young players join stars Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, and Evgeny Kuznetsov already in Arlington.

Here’s video from yesterday’s skate.
