Shane Gersich is already in full swing of his summer training. The Capitals rookie is participating in Minnesota’s Da Beauty League for the second consecutive year, joining Team Velocity.
On Wednesday, Gersich scored off a breakaway on Utah Grizzlies’ Brandon Wildung.
We can only hope to see more of these moves next season.

Though Gersich put the biscuit in the basket, Velocity lost 8-7 to RBC.
Gersich has scored two goals and three assists in four games. Other NHL players on his team include Justin Braun, Tyler Pitlick, and Alex Goligoski.
Velocity Hockey, who sponsors the team Gersich represents, is a youth hockey center in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Gersich played AAA hockey there in 1996.

Gersich has four more “regular season” games in Da Beauty League. His team is currently in second place, two points under Team BIC which stars his best buddy, Brock Boeser.
