At the end of the month, the Capitals’ Stanley Cup Champions DVD, produced by Cinedigm and NHL Original Productions, will be released. The movie will highlight the team’s unforgettable season with clips from both the regular season and postseason. It’ll also feature behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive interviews.
During the 2018 playoffs, the Capitals ultimately owned the big moments. And in this exclusive clip given to RMNB, you’ll witness when the team officially got over the proverbial hump: their Game Six overtime win against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The victory sent the Capitals to the third round of the playoffs for the first time in two decades.
“Going into overtime, the confidence the group had was a lot different than the last couple of years,” Brooks Orpik said.
The clip then shows Evgeny Kuznetsov stealing the puck from Sidney Crosby and scoring five hole on Matt Murray.
The bird man did his bird celebration.
The Capitals had a wild and raucous celebration both on the ice and in the locker room.
“We were really, like, happy, you know?” Kuznetsov said. “It’s long time for us. Long way.”
“Is this really happening?” John Walton added. “Is this real life?”
Cameras then bring you inside the locker room for Barry Trotz’s speech to the players.
“It’s a good example of what a team can do – what a real team can do when everyone’s pulling on the same rope,” Trotz said.
