Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation has announced it will hold the second annual Capitals Alumni Association Bourbon & Cigar Fundraiser on June 25 at Top of the Town in Arlington, Va.
Tickets for the 2018 event go on sale Friday for $250. A pre-sale for Capitals season ticket holders features tickets for $225. The event will feature a live auction of experience packages with Capitals alumni, with proceeds benefitting the Washington Capitals Alumni Association’s scholarship program for local youth hockey players.
Guests will receive a custom whiskey tasting glass and have access to an open bar – including tastings of a variety of Maker’s Mark products — hors d’oeuvres, and a free cigar. They’ll also have the opportunity to chat with Capitals alumni and bid on experiences with them. The live auction at least year’s inaugural event included opportunities such as skeet shooting with Alan May and spots on the roster for an alumni hockey game.

Alumni attendees for the 2018 fundraiser will be announced at a later date. Last year’s event featured Olie Kolgiz, Peter Bondra, Rod Langway, Mike Knuble, Dennis Maruk, Craig Laughlin, Alan May, and many others. It raised $50,000 for the Alumni Association’s scholarship program. Pat Sajak — the host of “Wheel of Fortune” and a Caps season ticket holder — was the surprise emcee.
