The last minute of the first period was wild. The game looked like it was heading into intermission 1-0, but then the Bolts scored, but then they didn’t, and then Ovi did the Ovi thing.
Here goes.

The Caps fourth line blew a chance in the Bolts zone, leading to a turnover and stretch pass to Nikita Kucherov, who outmuscled Dmitry Orlov to score an impressive goal.
Or did he? Turns out Kucherov was Tampa’s sixth skater on the ice. The goal was waved off, and the Caps got a power play.
TJ Oshie won the faceoff, got the puck to Kuznetsov, who fed Ovechkin, and boom.
Ovi’s ninth goal of the loffs and his first power play goal since Game Six of the first round.
