Last night, the Philadelphia Flyers were kicked out of the 2017-18 playoffs after the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated them in heartbreaking fashion.
Naturally, both sides were extremely calm and congratulated each other on a rousing series! I’m just kidding.
When Philadelphia finally crumbled and the third period came to a close, Flyers fans decided to throw beer cans on the ice (and no, that’s not the first time that Wells Fargo Center decided the proper response to a bad game was throwing things). Sidney Crosby was appalled that the fans were being wasteful with their beer.
Asked Sid about having all the beer cans thrown at him: “Those things were full. What a waste. Guess they have to be full to throw them that far.”

Earlier in the series, Flyers fans went viral for putting Crosby’s face in the urinals.

Alas, the Pittsburgh Penguins got the last laugh after not only beating the Flyers in the series, but by paying their respects to the Philadelphia dead.
The Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory posted a note that read, “Help us send our condolences to the Philadelphia Flyers and their fans, with these custom prayer cards memorializing their run in the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.” With the note? They attached the below photo of some prayer cards that were created with a lovely poem too.

Just ruthless. This is so rude and I am very glad that the Washington Capitals were not a part of this extremely scrappy series…but they might be a part of the next one.
