Former Capitals forward Alexander Semin got himself into a bit of hot water recently in his home town of Krasnoyarsk. Worse yet, he did it on camera, landing him on a viral video series called “Auto-jerks of Krasnoyarsk.”
As reported by Gazyeta.ru, Semin was behind the wheel of his Toyota pickup when he’d had enough of the traffic and decided to try his luck in the oncoming lane.
It didn’t go well.
Semin and a man identified as his father, Valeriy Semin, the chair of the Krasnoyarsk Krai Hockey Federation, quickly found themselves nose-to-nose with another driver.
The pair attempted to get the driver to move several times, to no avail. Then they tried to go around, only to be blocked in by the other driver.
Finally, enraged, the Semins were forced to turn back and drive off. The elder Semin appears to kick the front of the other car as he walked back to the pickup truck.
A few days later, Semin posted an apology for the incident to social media.
Friends, fans, and Krasnoyarskers! I would like to comment on a recent incident on the road. In a huge hurry due to family reasons, I broke the traffic laws and conducted myself in an improper manner toward other motorists. I know this is unacceptable. I offer my apologies to all who were present and everyone who witnessed this event, and call upon everyone to follow the traffic code.
Semin’s father, Valeriy, stated earlier that the family had been rushing to the airport, as they were late for a flight.
