Bruce Boudreau’s face got very red during the Wild’s Game One loss to the Jets

Wednesday night, the Minnesota Wild took on the Winnipeg Jets during Game One of their First Round matchup. It marked the tenth time in 11 years that a Bruce Boudreau led team was in the playoffs.

While there was a whiteout in Winnipeg, there was a red out on Bruce Boudreau’s face during the Wild’s 3-2 loss to the Jets.

Bruce’s frustration began late in the second period as Mark Scheifele got the Jets first on the board. The Wild’s seas parted, giving Scheifele a wide open lane to shoot in the high slot.

Bruce’s face got blood red on the bench.

Later in the game, Boudreau started cursing.

As you can see, he was really mad.

There’s no one that wants to win more than this guy.

While Boudreau is arguably one of the greatest coaches in this era — Bruce won the Jack Adams Award in 2007-08, led the Caps to their first ever Presidents’ Trophy in 2009-10, and owns a career .658 winning percentage — he has not nearly had the same success in the postseason.

Boudreau never led Washington past the second round of the playoffs during his four postseason appearances. After winning the Presidents’ Trophy, the Capitals were ousted by eighth-seeded Montreal in the first round.

While coaching the Anaheim Ducks, Boudreau lost Game Sevens on home ice four consecutive years. Boudreau owns a 1-7 record all-time in Game Sevens.
