One of my favorite topics of conversation is post-NHL career Brooks Laich. So, imagine my utter delight when I heard he was recently featured on a CrossFit podcast and asked the final question of, “Is it the Caps year?”
The response is exactly what you think it is.
I asked @brookslaich the only question that matters. @PFTCommenter @BarstoolBigCat @PardonMyTake #capsyear pic.twitter.com/ZaWcrzgyJN

Host of the podcast, Matt Bischel, asked “Is this the Caps year” to Laich and his first response was “Uhhhhhhh…” as he gazed into the distance. You can literally see the moment that he starts to think about his entire career. All twelve years of his time with the Washington Capitals and for them to suddenly win the cup.
Bischel asks once more, “so, is it the Caps year” and Laich responds in a very exhausted tone, “I hope it is. No, I hope it is.”
By the end of his career, Laich scored 134 goals over the 776 games he played.
The host of the podcast says the Capitals are due. We agree.
