Tom Wilson scored on an insane deflection to open the third period, giving the feisty forward 14 goals on the season. The goal knocked the wind out of the sails of the Pittsburgh Penguins, who hoped to make a late comeback.
Equally as important later in the game, Wilson had an equipment malfunction and put his hands down his pants on national television.

Referee Brad Meier noticed Wilson’s pants strings were out and hanging low to the ice. To prevent a dangerous situation, Meier asked Wilson to adjust his equipment. Wilson obliged.
NBCSN cameras zoomed in on the Capitals forward as he tucked his strings deep into his Wilsonness. Here is that in slomo.
I’m not sure which highlight is more #TypicalTom, the unexplainable goal or the pants snafu, but I’m sure at the end of the day, they’ll both get the same amount of pageviews.
