Evgeny Kuznetsov attempts to score a lacrosse goal

After scoring on a layup in the first period, Evgeny Kuznetsov amped up the difficulty on a second period shot attempt.

Noticing Ondrej Pavelec was not guarding the top corner of the net, Kuznetsov picked the pick up with the blade of his stick and tried to score a lacrosse goal.

Kuznetsov just missed out on stuffing the puck home.

Here’s another look. It’s incredible he almost scored like this in an actual NHL game.

In real time, it’s even more crazy.

Several players have scored lacrosse goals in the past, but never in the NHL. Rick Nash tried the move on Carey Price during the 2015 All-Star Game, but failed to score.
