Capitals goaltender Philipp Gruabuer will have a new mask for Saturday’s Stadium Series game.
Grubauer posted media of his new bucket on his Instagram account Wednesday. The mask was painted by Swedish airbrush artist Dave Gunnarsson.
The mask design features the official Stadium Series logo and his nickname Grubi on the chin. On the top of the helmet, the new W logo appeared in a sketch style, surrounded by stars and ribbon-like stripes.
Gunnarsson is a popular airbrush artist, used by many NHL goalies and has done work for both Grubauer and Braden Holtby in the past.
Gunnarsson also painted the mask that Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Frederick Anderson will be wearing.
