Caps at Jets pregame: Hittin’ the road

The Capitals had an awesome comeback on Sunday only to tie it up and lose in overtime to the Detroit Mike Gree- I mean, Red Wings. Twitter exploded, everyone was dramatic, but we’re all over it now (and if you’re not…you should be). Time for the Capitals to focus on the very good Winnipeg Jets they have to play tonight. The game marks the beginning of their four-game, week-long road trip.

Even with the healthy scratch of Jakub Vrana, hopefully the Capitals can snag a road WIN in WINNIPEG (sorry) to start their trip on a high note.

The game starts at 8 PM. Just an extra hour and enough time to throw you off a lil’. I’m an old lady so the possibility of me passing out early is high, but Sir Pete will have your recap.

Record 32-15-9 32-17-6
Shot Attempt % 51.9% 47.8%

Girls Rule

I hope you’ve all been watching the Olympic Games, but not just any games. The USA Women’s Hockey Team games and not just for the familiar sounds of John Walton…but because I shouldn’t have to convince you to watch them. They’re great.

This morning, the USA Women defeated OAR (not the band, the Olympic Athletes from Russia) 5-0. This also included the two goals that Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson scored in six seconds. Read that one more time. TWO GOALS IN SIX SECONDS. You can read the full recap of the game on usahockey.com, but for now…here’s the third USA goal from Lamoureaux-Davidson that I will have playing on a loop and projected on my gravestone:

Valentine’s Day

It is tomorrow. Buy something nice for your significant other. Need an idea OTHER THAN a new RMNB tee? Let me help. Here are my top five things I would personally want for Valentine’s Day, so these are probably good gifts

    1. Flowers. My personal favorite? Daisies, but I am absolutely in the minority so buy roses.
    2. A nice cozy blanket you can fit two people under, but just barely so that the two people have to snuggle.
    3. Chocolate or Candy. Anything with caramel, in my honest opinion. If you are in a fight with your valentine, get them those chalk “Sweethearts” candies that say things like “Call Me” and taste like powder.
    4. Go to see a movie. Paddington 2 is good. I swear, it’ll change your life.
    5. Dinner. Just go to dinner. Everyone likes dinner.
