After participating in a charity event at TopGolf Wednesday afternoon, Washington Capitals forwards Tom Wilson and Brett Connolly made their way downtown to catch a special concert at the 9:30 Club.
14-year-old musician Grace VanderWaal, the 2016 winner of America’s Got Talent, was performing a stop on her Just Beginning tour and the two hockey players got a VIP experience.
After taking the show in on the balcony, the two players, including their significant others Katrina Connolly and Taylor Pischke, met Grace backstage.
“Big fans. Grace killed it tonight,” Wilson wrote on Instagram.
It appears Tom also may have given Grace one of his jerseys.
In an adorable Instagram posting during which the musician meets two more of her biggest fans, Grace is still rocking the oversized Caps sweater.
VanderWaal first got national fame after she received the golden buzzer for an unbelievable performance on America’s Got Talent. The talented singer from New York state performed an original song, I Don’t Know My Name on her ukulele and got a free pass to the finals from Howie Mandell.
She was 12 at the time. The video has gotten over 78 million views on YouTube.
Now she may be a Caps fan.
