From his weird faces to his playfulness with teammates and mites, Evgeny Kuznetsov’s personality is on full display this year.
Tuesday night that continued after Kuznetsov scored in an unlikely way for his 13th goal of the season.

As Kuznetsov flew down the right wing, he unleashed a heavy shot to the far side of the net. Canucks goaltender Jacob Markström made the initial save with his pad, but the rebound bounced high in the air. In an attempt to clear the puck, defenseman Erik Gudbranson swatted at the biscuit, but accidentally punched it into his own net.
Whoops.
During a second intermission interview, Kuzy had a very important point to make to NBC Sports Washington’s Al Koken.
After Koken called the goal “a good bounce” twice during the the chat, Kuznetsov ended the interview with this.
“By the way it’s not a lucky bounce,” Kuznetsov said.
And then he walked away.
Capital One Arena’s closed captioning went haywire.
Evgeny Kuznetsov tells Al Koken about his goal, “By the way, it’s not lucky bounce.”
Arena closed captioning, no joke: “By the way, Tom likes your balls.”

Thus concluding a weird night at Capital One Arena.
Kuzy broke his stick during warmups and took some shots with half a stick. 😂 @Kuzya92 @Capitals pic.twitter.com/AUVxI35sgK
