Milwaukee Admirals forward Bobby Butler was one of 22 players named to the United States Olympic hockey team on Monday. But this story is about Bobby Butler’s papa.
While at practice, Bobby called his dad over to the bench and gave him the big news. The Admirals posted video on Twitter and, well, you just have to see this.

The two engage in several emotional embraces while Butler’s Admiral teammates cheer in the background.
At one point, Butler’s dad grabs his son by the helmet and pushes him away before they hug one final time.
What a moment.
While Butler’s unlikely nod to the Olympic team is the biggest achievement of his hockey career, it’s also a huge accomplishment for his parents. They are the ones who drove their son to all those early practices and gave him the love, structure, and encouragement he needed to thrive at such a high level.
