After beating Devils, Capitals take sole possession of first place in the Metropolitan Division

The Washington Capitals entered action one point behind their opponent on Saturday night, the New Jersey Devils in the Metropolitan Division standings.

After the team’s 5-2 win over the Devils, the Capitals took sole possession of first place in the division. The Capitals have now won eight straight at home and ten of eleven overall.

That’s really cool for the meantime, but the Devils still have two games in hand to try and right the one point gap in the standings.

It’s important for the Caps to keep picking up these wins at home against Metropolitan Division opponents. This division is going to be even closer than it was last year.
