Last season, furry hockey fan Nick Cordell made waves at a Blues-Oilers game when he showed up to Scottrade Center with a sign that read @CMcDavid97 I Will Shave Beard For A Puck.
According to Fox Sports’, Cordell hadn’t been clean shaven since 2008, but a warmup puck from the budding hockey legend would make him part with his nearly decade old beard.
@cmcdavid97 @EdmontonOilers my wife doesn't think I will do this, let's prove her wrong!! See you on St Louis tomorrow night!!! pic.twitter.com/ljRAxE0pSR

Lo and behold, McDavid saw the sign and obliged, chucking a puck to the fan.

And like the good human he is, Cordell kept his end of the bargain and shaved off his beard. Facial hair grows back, but going viral on Twitter lasts forever.

Thursday night, Cordell found himself at Capital One Arena for the Capitals game against the Boston Bruins. Cordell, who grew up in Hagerstown, Maryland, was in town for the holidays and brought his son Eli to his first Caps game.
Eli, like his very intelligent father, decided to bring a clever sign to the arena too and went just as big as dad. Hey Ovi Can I Have A Puck For My 1st Caps Game?
Ovechkin saw the sign and tossed them a puck to commemorate the evening.
Eli is having a blast at his 1st @Capitals game!! Thanks for the puck @ovi8 and for making my son’s night!! pic.twitter.com/Hv7yqwCjKR

So now the Cordells have pucks from two of the greatest scorers of this generation: Ovechkin and McDavid. How cool is that?
