Dmitry Orlov’s smile will never be the same after an errant high stick by Blackhawks forward Ryan Hartman.
NOT THE FACE.
With 1:20 left in the third period, Hartman errantly swung his stick while he lost balance falling to the ice. His stick caught Orlov in the mouth.
Orlov can be seen immediately picking up his tooth from the ice.
The Russian defenseman would show off his broken smile to the official, giving Hartman a four-minute double minor.
“He’s not lying,” NBCSN’s Pierre McGuire said. “The tooth came out. I saw it.”
The blood on the ice was gnarly.
Here’s hoping Orlov’s smile makes a full recovery.
The tooth that Orlov lost last night, btw, was an implant that had been knocked out previously by a high stick. #Caps
