Instead of fighting, Brad Marchand kisses Leo Komarov on the cheek

Noted pest Brad Marchand was his normal, annoying self Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He even re-debuted a tool from his pest toolbox.

While engaged in post-whistle hug, Marchand placed a quick peck on Leo Komarov’s cheek.

The romantic moment happened midway through the third period. I can honestly say I’ve never seen anything like this before.

Let’s zoom.

Speaking to the media after Leafs practice on Monday, Komarov said he didn’t let the pair’s special moment bother him.

“I told [Marchand] I have a wife and a baby so I can’t do it right now,” Komarov said. “I kind of liked it.”

Nazem Kadri said he’s seen other opposing players blow kisses to each on the ice before, but he’s never seen someone smooch someone’s actual face.

“Everyone seems to be a huge fan of Leo. I’m not quite sure what it is,” Kadri said when asked what he thought drove Marchand to make a move. “I thought it was pretty hilarious, but I don’t know what he was thinking there.

“I would be very confused and would find it a bizarre and odd situation,” Kadri added. “I am not sure how I would react.”

Me neither.
