Through 16 games this season, the Capitals are only one game over .500 and needed overtime Monday to beat the last-place Arizona Coyotes. But Dmitry Orlov is here to give us all life.
Wednesday morning, Orlov posted a picture to his Instagram story and, I’m just going to be honest, it was a Very Good photo.
That’s because the Russian defenseman was smiling while holding his temporarily cross-eyed Bengal cat.

This is the best photo a Caps player has taken with a cat since Alex Ovechkin randomly picked up this kitty in 2013. Also, let’s not forget this impossibly perfect pic of Mike Green and Banana.
There’s a certain je ne sais quoi to this photo that’s hard to really pinpoint. Orlov always has a Russian smile (i.e.: he doesn’t smile) in photos, yet he seems adorably happy here.
Meanwhile the couple’s cat, who is always adorable, is looking in two different directions and has completely submitted to Dima.
Varvara Orlova routinely posts photo of the kitty. Here’s a sampling.
There you go, @h__steele. I hope I didn’t let you down.
