When TJ Oshie re-signed with the Capitals this summer, he noted stability for his family as a reason for signing the eight-year deal that Washington offered. (Of course, $46 million wouldn’t be a downside either.) With that in mind, the Oshies took a big step towards calling Washington home this fall.
TJ and Lauren closed on a $5.2 million house in McLean on November 1, acccording to Sara Gilgore of the Washington Business Journal. The Oshies were sold the house by Ray Ritchey, a Washington-area real estate mogul whose family has lived in the house for the past 21 years.
“I think they’ll find the house and the neighborhood great for their family when they move in,” Ritchey said to the Washington Business Journal.
The amenities of the house are, predictably, outrageous. According to Gilgore:
The roughly 7,505-square-foot home in the Langley Farms subdivision has European-style architecture and a stucco exterior, with three levels that include five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half-baths. It has an outdoor pool, and a media room, library, and six fireplaces throughout the house. That’s in addition to the living room, family room, dining room, kitchen and breakfast room, according to Bright MLS, the regional multiple listings service.
It has been an eventful week in the Oshie household, with their youngest daughter Leni saying her first “I love you.” Now, the fam will move to a beautiful new home in McLean.
“We hope they have as much happiness there as we enjoyed the last 21 years,” Ritchey said to Gilgore about the Oshies. “They’re a fantastic couple that have been terrific to work with through the process.”
