Caps at Bruins pregame: Going for ten

The Capitals have swept the Bruins during the last three seasons. That 9-0-0 record will be challenged as the Caps return to the road for a Saturday night date against the big bad Bs, who are not big anymore but are also not really bad anymore either.

The game starts is on NBCSNDCR+L=J. It starts at 7 PM, and I, Peter (hi), will be assembling your recap. Please be gentle with me.

Record 5-3-3 6-6-1
Shot Attempt % 52.3% 47.7%
PDO 99.2 102.5
Power Play 29.1% 19.5%
Penalty Kill 80.6% 74.5%

Projected Lines

By way of the intrepid Isabelle Khurshudyan‏ of WaPo, the lines are changed not at all from their victory over Long Island, but…. well scroll down.

Vrana – Backstrom – Oshie
Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – DSP
Stephenson – Eller – Wilson
Walker – Beagle – Chiasson

Djoos – Carlson
Orpik – Bowey
Orlov – Chorney

Holtby

Here’s this:

So maybe Walker is out and LOB is in?

We were all wrong about Brad Marchand

Old-school tweet:

Whoops. Our bad. We all thought that Marchand was a pest whose only skills were in instigating and diving. Nope, turns out he’s a genuine top-tier offensive forward, and boy do we feel silly.

He’s still a diver.
