For a cross-section of Capitals fans, they may struggle to look at TJ Oshie the same way again.
Tuesday night for Halloween, TJ and wife Lauren dressed their two adorable children up as President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. The photo is cute and the likenesses are spot on, but Oshie normalizing Donald Trump’s behavior like this and this and this and especially this is problematic – especially for someone who is so popular and idolized by kids.
Mr. President and the First Lady!! P.S. All in good fun! God Bless America🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 #HappyHalloween

“Mr. President and the First Lady!!,” Oshie wrote. “P.S. All in good fun! God Bless America🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 #HappyHalloween”
Here’s some of the reaction Oshie got in the comments:
Oshie apparently did not learn the lesson of Connor McDavid who dressed up as Trump the night before and was eviscerated online.
All I’ll say is this. Halloween is a fun holiday. Many people make lewd jokes or do things that shock others for a reaction. I get it and have done the same in the past. But if you have a platform where people look up to you, try to think bigger than yourself and make decisions that help make the world a better place.
This does not do that – no matter how cute or “all in good fun” the costumes may be.
