Former Capitals winger Stanislav Galiev has been struggling a bit since returning to Russia and joining Ak Bars Kazan. In the 12 games he’d played this season before Wednesday’s match-up, Galiev had just one goal and one assist, averaging 13:29 per game in ice time.
Wednesday, however, Galiev did all the right things, crashing the net and bagging the garbage to notch the game-winner for Ak Bars against Yugra. It was the biggest goal Galiev has scored since leaving the Capitals organization.
The KHL’s English-language Twitter account brought you the epically emotive celly.
