At midnight, Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin turned 32-years-old. To celebrate, three minutes after the hour, Ovechkin posted a photo on Instagram with an inspirational message.
“32 is just the beginning!” Ovechkin wrote in Russian.
He added in English, “It’s just the begging [sic] 😎 #happybirthday”
Ovechkin added an image from his last stint with Dynamo Moscow of the KHL. He wore number 32 with the team.
Happy Birthday, Ovi!
1:15 AM update: Ovechkin has fixed the spelling of beginning on Instagram, which is very surprising to me.
