Come laugh at the Capitals who are impossibly bad and overly competitive at tabletop games

Thursday during Media Day, the Washington Capitals got out some popular tabletop games — such as Jenga and Don’t Break The Ice — and duked it out on camera.

As you might have guessed, the players were predictably terrible at the games and at times, needed instruction on how to actually play them.

“So what do we do? One (hippo) at a time?” John Carlson asked before playing Hungry Hungry Hippos.

Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom’s somewhat limited English also threw a wrench into a game of Guess Who?

“Is your guy use gel… in the hair?” Alex Ovechkin asked.

“A little bit,” Nicklas Backstrom said.

“A little bit?” Ovechkin responded confused.

A summary of the games are below.

Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots

Featuring Dmitry Orlov and Evgeny Kuznetsov

Before their matchup, Kuznetsov and Orlov are asked to say hi to the camera.

“HIIIIIIIII!” Kuznetsov responds with a crazed look on his face.

The two Russians proceed to aggressively jam their buttons before Orlov’s red robot knocks Kuznetsov’s green robot clear off its hinges. Kuzy, frustrated he lost, responds by ripping Orlov’s plastic robot out of the ring and putting it on the floor.

“That’s it?” Orlov asks wryly, not wanting to play again against his over-competitive teammate.

“NYET” Kuznetsov responds as he turns the ring around and puts the robot fighters back into place.

They play again. Kuzy wins within five seconds and raises his hand in victory.

“KO! KO!” he says.

Next the two countrymen play Don’t Break The Ice. Kuznetsov chips one tiny piece out of the corner. Orlov then tries and breaks the entire sheet of ice. He gets up frustrated and walks away as onlookers laugh.

Guess Who? Caps Edition!

Featuring Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom

On Facebook Live, the Capitals shared a game of Guess Who? between forever first-line bros, Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom.

After the first game, Ovechkin finally knocks down all his players except for one.

“Who ya got?” Backstrom asks.

“I don’t know,” Ovechkin says.

“Who do you have left here?” Backstrom responds.

“I don’t know how to play,” Ovechkin, breaking into laughter, says.

“Whatta game!” Backstrom says with a big smile.

The trio starts playing. Chaos ensues.

“Mine’s broke,” Ovechkin complains.
