Alex Ovechkin attends Washington Redskins season opener against Philadelphia Eagles

Alex Ovechkin is a huge fan of the Redskins — see his Kirk Cousins jersey and his Let’s Go Redskins chants — and Sunday he attended the team’s season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Ovechkin, along with his wife Nastya Ovechkina and training partner Gus, sat in luxury box seats for the game. Nastya posted video of the national anthem and the jet flyover at FedExField.

Ovechkin also took a photo with friend Pete Kalamoutsos, one of the owners of Club Glow, as well as Abe Hamrah of Designo Motoring.

The Redskins would end up losing 30-17. Washington’s new-look offense sputter and could not survive a relentless onslaught of blitzes. A gun-slinging Carson Wentz threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns.

It appears after the game, Ovechkin and Caps teammate Dmitry Orlov visited a sauna.

Caps training camp begins this Friday.
