On July 1, longtime Capitals defenseman Karl Alzner signed a five-year, $23.125 million contract with the Montreal Canadiens, ending his time in Washington.
Well… not quite yet.
Saturday, Alzner took his family, including his young son Anson, to the ballpark to see the Washington Nationals lose to the Atlanta Braves 13-0.

Alzner was spotted by MASN cameras before the bottom of the sixth inning.
“Capitals defenseman, Karl Alzner – what an iron man! 82 regular season games, 6 out of 7 years here from 2010 to 2017,” Nationals play-by-play announcer Bob Carpenter said on air. “We wish him well with the Canadiens.”
Alzner is a regular at Nats Park. During the offseason last year, Alzner shared a photo with CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Jill Sorenson of his family at another ballgame. This time Alzner’s wife Mandy and daughter Stella posed.
