CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Joe Beninati, who is the best, was once again declared the best by his peers during the 59th Capital Emmy Awards. Held at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, the Capitals play-by-play announcer took home two Emmy awards for his work during the 2016 calendar year: Best Sports Play-by-Play Announcer and Best Sports Event/Game – Live/Unedited.
The sublimely dressed Beninati wore a black tuxedo along with a white dress shirt and fancy bow tie.

According to CSN Mid-Atlantic Producer Steve Farrell, it’s the hockey crew’s fifth Emmy win in the last eight years.

Other notable winners include CSN Mid-Atlantic anchor Michael Jenkins, CSN reporter Tarik El-Bashir for his work on Capital Gains, and WUSA 9’s Kristen Berset who took home the Ted Yates Award for her public battle fighting breast cancer.
