After a weird puck bounce in the Columbus Blue Jackets’ first-round series, rookie defenseman Zach Werenski found himself with a broken orbital bone, broken sinus cavity, and 18 fugly stitches.
Werenski’s misfortune was canonized (see what I did there?) in a gnarly selfie which then itself became a viral story for a Blue Jackets fan. Jay Shrub received national attention and a free Zach Werenski jersey after turning the photo into a very beautiful shirt.
Now Werenski has one of his own.
On Thursday, Werenski took over the CBJ Snapchat account as he went on a media tour of Columbus. One of his stops was at Nationwide Arena to meet with the t-shirt guy, Shrub, who works for FunnyShirts.org.
Shrub and his daughter brought Werenski his own shirt. Look how excited he is.

According to the Blue Jackets Snapchat, they will begin selling the shirts soon, which is both fantastic and fun.
