After suffering a season-ending injury on Thursday evening, Ryan Johansen returned to Bridgestone Arena on Monday to lead the crowd in a rally towel wave.
On crutches, Johansen was joined by his injured teammate Kevin Fiala. Both smiled from ear-to-ear during the touching moment.
Johansen was released from the hospital yesterday after undergoing emergency surgery for acute compartment syndrome after the Predators game on Thursday. He didn’t skip a beat in returning to Bridgestone and made sure to make an appearance during a pivotal game in Predators franchise history.
Even though he spent four days in the hospital, Johansen was not alone. His brother and Caps prospect, Lucas, visited his brother on Saturday. Fiala also swung by to watch the Preds game from the comfort of the hospital room.
