Carl Hagelin’s out as Pens shake up lines before Game Seven

This is interesting. The Pittsburgh Penguins have made a couple changes to their lineup for Game Seven. The big one: Carl Hagelin is out, presumably due to injury. That’s a lot of speed missing from the Pens .

Per the team, here’s how they line up:

Guentzel – Crosby – Rust
Kunitz – Malkin – Kessel
Sheary – Bonino – Hornqvist
Wilson – Cullen – Rowney

Dumoulin – Hainsey
Maatta – Schultz
Cole – Ruhwedel

Fleury

Joining Hagelin in the press box is winger Tom Kuhnhackl. Scott Wilson and Carter Rowney get sweaters instead. Tonight will be Rowney’s 34th NHL game – on his 28th birthday.

And, for the first time in a month, goalie Matt Murray is ready to play too. He’ll be backing up Fleury.

We don’t know specifically why Hagelin is out, but he’s certainly been banged up in this series.

Hagelin was named the league’s fastest skater in 2012. He’s scored one goal in five playoffs games.
